No doubt about it,  the poles are essential in every man's wardrobe. Yes, no matter what your age, lifestyle or where you live, there will always be more than one way you can wear this garment and look amazing.

Many young men, however, don't know, or let's say don't know, certain rules that exist when it comes to wearing a polo shirt. That is, they make some mistakes that, frankly, do not benefit their image and do not make them look good.

But hey, now you don't have to  worry about it, because in this article I am going to show you  how you should wear this garment so essential for the modern man who likes to look smart.

1-Think about the setting

First check how well the garment fits you, as there is no way you can look good wearing a polo shirt if, for example, it fits you too big, too wideor too tight.

I'm talking about not wearing this garment to the point that it cuts off your circulation or is too long, that it goes down past your crotch, or even too short, that when your arms go up you can almost see your belly button. This is something that looks terrible.

That is why, you have to be very careful when choosing a polo shirt.

  • Take  all the time you need to try it on and make sure it fits you well, but above all that it makes you feel comfortable.
  • Pay close attention also to the arms. It has to be just before the triceps to increase the visual size of your arms. And if it's too low,  It's going to cover them completely, and if it's too high, it's going to look like you're wearing your little brother's shirt.

2-Pay attention to design

The next thing you should also pay close attention to when wearing a polo shirt is the design, print or pattern of the garment.

Me, mainly, I recommend that you avoid polo shirts with large or flashy logos.Because believe me, these models are not going to make you look good. It doesn't matter if you find them on sale or on discount, because in the end it's those kind of things that people often say "cheap is expensive".

I also suggest you avoid striped polo shirts, specifically with horizontal stripes, as they will give you a childish or immature look. Polo shirts that are completely plain in colour look much better, and are also more versatile when it comes to matching them.

3-Start with polo shirts in basic colours.

The white, black, grey and navy blue polo shirts are indispensable.. I dare say that every man who likes to dress well and have a variety of outfits, needs to have these colours in his wardrobe.

Once you have those colours, you can now experiment with other colours, for example, Pastel colours, light blue, red, greeneven with models that have two or more colours.

It all depends on the occasion and the outfit you plan to wear them with, but black, white and grey are absolutely essential. Therefore, they are a must have.

4-Apply the rule of combining polo shirt with bermuda shorts.

Never forget this: if you're going to wear your polo shirt with Bermuda shorts, you should never leave it on the outside, as that doesn't look good. These garments can be worn inside the trousers, of course, as long as they are long enough so that they don't constantly slip out of the trousers.

If, on the other hand, you really like that style, what you can do is wear it half inside your trousers, and believe me, you'll look much better that way.

5-Wear it buttoned up? Yes, but you need to know how

It's true that you can also wear your polo shirt buttoned all the way up. In fact, many men like to wear them that way. Of course, though, for that you need the placket of your garment to be sufficiently rigid. so that it doesn't bend or take on a strange shape when you button it.

In my opinion, polo shirts are quite comfortable, cool and you look much more dressed up, so to speak. But beyond them, Perhaps that is the way you would be best served by using it.

Why? Because, when you unbutton the first three buttons, or the first two, depending on how long your polo shirt is, you will draw people's eyes to this part. And in this way, you will create the visual effect of having much broader shoulders, a more angular, more defined face, and a broader back.
